— Who Uses This App

All users of GECCS Campus App are from the college. This app is an institutional app for your college. Students, guards, and admins using the app are part of the same college community. We do not allow or collect data from users outside your institution.

— What We Do NOT Collect or Store

We collect only what is needed for the app to work (e.g. account info, event registrations, check-ins). We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising or tracking.

1 Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide

• Account & Identity: Name, email address, enrollment number, mobile number
• Academic Details: Course, branch, year of study, institution
• Profile Photo: Optional profile picture you choose to upload
• Authentication Data: Password (hashed), used only for sign-in

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, model, operating system version
• Usage Data: Event registrations, check-in history, app screens viewed
• Push Notification Tokens: FCM token for delivering event updates and reminders

• To create, maintain, and secure your account
• To process event registrations and generate QR code tickets

3 Data Storage & Security

We use Google Firebase services to store and process your data:

• Firebase Authentication: Secure sign-in and account management
• Firebase Firestore: Encrypted database for profiles, events, and registrations
• Firebase Storage: Secure storage for profile and notification images
• Firebase Cloud Messaging: Push notification delivery

All data is transmitted over TLS/SSL and stored on secure Google Cloud infrastructure. We apply access controls and follow security best practices.

4 Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these cases:

• Event Organizers & Admins: Registration and attendance details for event management
• Security Personnel (Guards): Ticket verification and check-in status during events
• Legal Obligations: When required by law, court order, or government request
• Protection of Rights: To protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others

5 Permissions We Request

We request only the permissions needed for the app to function. We do not use these permissions to collect, store, or misuse your information. Permissions are used only as described below:

• Camera: Used only for QR code scanning (Guards) and profile photo capture. We do not record, store, or transmit any video or images beyond what you explicitly upload (e.g. profile photo).
• Internet: Used only for app functionality, syncing events and registrations, and receiving notifications. We do not track your browsing or network activity.
• Notifications: Used only to send event updates and reminders. Optional — you can deny this permission.
• Biometric: Used only for optional fingerprint or face login on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your biometric data. Optional

We do not take or store any information beyond what is needed for these features. No permission is used for advertising, tracking, or selling your data.

You have the right to:

• Access and view your personal data
• Update or correct your profile information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications
• Request a copy of your data
• Withdraw consent where applicable
